A mineral with the blend of fayalite (Fe2SiO4) and forsterite (Mg2SiO4)- Dunite, is a member of igneous rock peridotite group. Basically identified by the people across the world for its coarse grained texture, this plutonic rock of ultramafic composition has minor contents of Chromite and Pyroxene. This parent rock of magnesite, appears Dark Grey to Olive Green in the color. Dunite or Olivine Sand is the most trusted commercial source of magnesia and silicia, it is highly found in the natural chrysotile-bearing areas of India.
